Originally written as part of a collaboration-only anthology known as Chiral Mad 4, this 20,000-word novella was created alongside Bracken MacLeod, author of such books as Mountain Home, Stranded, and White Knight & Other Pawns.. The story was well-received, particularly with Sadie “Mother Horror” Hartmann, a reviewer and co-owner of the horror genre subscription service Night Worms. Working with specialty publisher Thunderstorm Books, Night Worms commissioned a limited edition paperback-version of the novella for their March 2020 package, and Thunderstorm released a now-sold-out hardcover edition.
